Bayero University, Kano was established in 1975 when it was renamed from Bayero University College and
upgraded from University College to university. BUK is a non-profit public
higher education institution located in the large city of Kano. Bayero University, Kano officially accredited and/or recognized by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.

The University is a medium coeducational higher education institution which offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
