University of Ilorin was established in 1975.
The University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the city of Ilorin in Kwara State.
University of Ilorin was one of the seven institutions of higher learning established by a decree of the Federal Military Government in August, 1975. The University started out with only three academic faculties of Arts, Science and Education.
The University is accredited by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.
University of Ilorin offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
