Federal University of Technology Owerri was founded in 1980 as a non-profit public higher education institution.

The University is located in the urban setting of the large town of Owerri in Imo State.

Officially accredited and/or recognized by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.

Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) is a co-educational higher education institution which offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.

FUTO is one of the premier technological universities in western Africa and its student body comprises of people from all over West Africa and beyond. It is the only federal university of technology in the south-east of Nigeria, and one of the oldest in West Africa.

The University is known for its technologically strong graduates, evidenced by the large number its alumni currently in oil and gas companies in Nigeria.

FUTO Notice to Newly Admitted (Redistributed) SMAT Students For 2017/2018 Academic Session

Following the redistribution of students of Project Management Technology and Transport Management Technology admitted in 2017/2018 session, there is an urgent need for the entry qualifications of these students to be validated for their new Departments.

The affected students are therefore requested to:

1. Visit JAMB Website to accept their admission in the new Department and also effect a change of Department to the new one.

2. Visit the University Website for the following:

(i) Reprint their University Admission Letter to reflect their new Departments;

(ii) Update their Profile details, reprint Profile information Slip, Validity form and Acceptance Letter bearing their new departments;

(iii) Proceed to the Admissions Unit, Top Floor, Old SEET Building, unfailingly on Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at 9.00am with the under-listed documents reflecting their new departments:
(a) O’Level statement of result;
(b) Confirmation of Admission form;
(c) JAMB and FUTO Admission Letters; and
(d) Printed Profile, Validity form and Acceptance Letter.

In addition to the above stated documents, students of PMT and TMT who are yet to register should come with the following:

1. FUTO PUTME Result Slip;
2. School Fees Receipt;
3. Birth Certificate; and
4. LGA Identification Letter.

Notice to Graduands

With regards to the forthcoming 30th convocation ceremony,
all graduands of the Federal University of Technology Owerri
(FUTO) are to take note that they can now use the Remita
platform to pay for hiring of academic gowns.

The cost of hiring of gown is Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00)
for undergraduate graduands and Seven Thousand Five
Hundred Naira (N7,500.00) for postgraduate graduands.

Procedure

1. Visit the university website: [futo.edu.ng]
2. Click on the link ‘Portal’ Or School Portal with the url:
[www.portal.futo.edu.ng]
3. Click on Bursary Collections.
4. Select Payment Category (Student related payment).
5. Select your Category item for the payment:
– Undergraduate
– Postgraduate PGD
– Postgraduate Masters
– Postgraduate PhD
6. Complete the form to generate the payment invoice.
7. Proceed to any Bank for payment; alternatively pay online
with your debit card after generating an invoice.
8. Proceed to Bursary Unit for your official receipt.

FUTO Postgraduate School Registration Process for 2017/2018 Session

STEP 1: ADMISSION STATUS

Kindly visit the School Portal: portal.futo.edu.ng

Drop Down the Postgraduate Menu and then click
on Check Admission Status
Provide your PG Application Number and submit
Use your Application Number as
your username and password to login to your profile
Fill your PG Bio-data Form and submit successfully to
access other drop-down menus.

STEP 2: ACCEPTANCE PAYMENT

Drop down the Acceptance Menu, then select Pay PG-
Acceptance
New students are required to select (2017/2018) as
current session, then submit to generate the acceptance
invoice.
Go to the bank and make payment with your PG-
Acceptance invoice using the RRR (Remita Retrieval
Reference) number on your invoice.
Visit your Profile Account again, Login
with your username and password
Drop down the Acceptance Menu, select Pay PG-
Acceptance, then submit to obtain your PG Admission
letter.
Proceed to the PG School and meet your Departmental
Schedule Officer with originals of your credentials/
certificates, photocopies and passport photograph
Proceed to your Department for Departmental clearance.

STEP 3: SCHOOL FEES PAYMENT

Drop down the School Fees Menu, click on Pay PG-
School Fees and select the required fields.
New students are required to select (2017/2018) as the
current session and year 1 as the level, then submit to
generate the school fees invoice.
Go to the bank and make payment with your PG-School Fees invoice using the RRR (Remitta Retrieval Reference)
number on your invoice.
Visit your Profile Account again, Login
with your username and password
Drop down the School Fees Menu, click on Pay PG-School Fees, then submit to obtain your PG School Fees
Receipt.
Register your courses online.
