Background: Globally, crimes and criminal activities have become an enduring social problem. Thus, governments, society, organisations, and criminal justice system increasingly rely on professionals skilled in forensic investigation and criminal intelligence to help solve these menaces and prevent future criminal behaviours. However, in Nigeria, extant studies have provided evidence that: A wide gap exists between the supply of and demand for properly trained forensic and intelligence officers. UNILAG Announces Date For Commencement of First Semester Examination for 2017/2018 Academic Session

This is to inform all the students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) that the management of the institution has announced the date for the.commencement of first semester, 2017/2018 academic session examination.

The 2017/2018 Academic Session first semester examinations have been scheduled to commence on Monday, April 23, 2018 with GST examinations.

UNILAG Dockets Printing Notice for 1st Semester Examination 2017/2018

Authorities of the University of Lagos have released the schedule for the processing of on-line dockets for the first semester, 2017/2018 academic session examination.

The First Semester Examination for 2017/2018 Academic Session is scheduled to commence on Monday, April 23, 2018. The schedule for the online generation of examination dockets are as follows:

Monday, April 9, 2018 : Students are to visit the University website ([www.unilag.edu.ng]) to generate/print the examination docket in colour

Friday, April 27, 2018 : End of generating/printing of examination dockets.

UNILAG UTME & Departmental Cut Off Mark For Mass Communication

Aspiring candidates are expected to meet certain criteria before they can be admitted to study in any of the courses in any Nigerian university.

One of such criteria involves meeting the required cut off mark for the school as well as the course or department itself.

Obtain admission based on merit becomes easy and straightforward when one has met the required cut off mark for the admission into the desired course.

UTME and Departmental UNILAG Cut Off Mark for Mass Communication

When it comes to UNILAG, the UTME cut off mark is currently 200 for all courses , and UNILAG only accepts and screens first choice candidates only.

So, what is UNILAG cut off mark for mass
communication?

Regarding the Cut Off Mark for Mass Communication, which is the desired course or department in this case, the merit cut-off mark is currently 65.70 .

You can think of this as the required aggregate score for an aspiring candidate to get admitted into UNILAG to study Mass Communication based on merit. You might also think of the 65.50 as 65.5% or 65.5/100 or 262/400. You can see how to calculate your UNILAG post-utme aggregate score below.

Things You Should Note About UNILAG Post UTME /Admission Screening

Candidates who made University of Lagos their first choice in the 2017/2018 UTME and scored 200 and above are eligible for screening. In addition, candidates must possess five (5) credit passes at one sitting in relevant O/level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates, who will not be sixteen (16) years of age by 31st October, 2017 are not eligible and need not apply.

Candidates who do not participate in the Post-UTME
Screening will not be considered for admission.

UNILAG Post-UTME Screening Examination Format

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) usually sets questions on just three(3) subjects which are Mathematics, English Language and Current Affairs for all students irrespective of the course you have registered for in your JAMB and its subject combination.

The format of UNILAG post utme exam (number of questions per subject) is as follows:

English Language = 20 Questions

Maths = 10 Questions

Current Affairs =10 Questions

Total = 40 Questions

Time to take Test = 30 Minutes.

How to Calculate Your UNILAG Post-UTME Aggregate Score

In order to calculate your UNILAG post-utme aggregate score, the formula adopted by the institution is the sum of your UTME SCORE divided by 8 and your POST UTME SCORE divided by 2.

For instance: if you scored 290 in UTME and went on to score 70 in POST UTME,your aggregate score will be calculated thus:

UTME Score = 290/8 =36.25

Post UTME Score = 70/2 =35

Aggregate Score =36.25 + 35 =71.25%

Don’t get confused, it can be quite understood that the post utme questions is 40. You might want to ask, how then is it possible for me to score 70 in post utme.

This is the simple magic UNILAG performs; whatever you score in post utme over 40 will be rounded up to 100, that is it will rounded up to percentage. Let’s say for example you score 20/40. It will be the same as 20/40 multiply by(*) 100/1 which is equal to 50/100. What ever is gotten over 100 is what will be divided by

2 to get your final post utme score before combining to get the aggregate as described above.

Your aggregate score will be measured against the cut off mark of your chosen course.

The cut off marks (required aggregate scores) for all courses will be published weeks after the post utme exams.

B.Sc. IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTING; The
following candidates are eligible to apply:
Graduates of University of Lagos or any other university
recognized by Senate (only candidates with good degrees in
relevant disciplines will be considered for admission at
enhanced entry level).
Holders of the Higher National Diploma or National Diploma or
NCE in the relevant disciplines. For this Category, please note
that only holders of HND with at least Upper Credit will be
eligible for admissions at enhanced entry level.
Holders of recognized relevant full professional qualifications
such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, ACIA, ACIS, ACIB, CII, may be
considered for admission at enhanced level provided they
have five credits at WASC/GCE/SSCE Or equivalent, which
include English Language and Mathematics at not more than
two (2) sittings.
Holders of General Certificate of Education (Ordinary level) or
the Senior Secondary Certificate/West African School Certificate
“NECO’ or its equivalent with credits in five subjects including
English Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2)

NOTE: Point of entry for candidates in categories a, b and c will
depend on details of their Transcripts and such candidates
must also satisfy the WASC/SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level, NECO
requirements as stated in (c) above.
B.Sc. PROGRAMME IN ECONOMICS
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
SSCE/NECO 5 credits to include English Language,
Mathematics, Economics plus any other two (2)subjects at not
more than two (2) sittings.

B.Sc. PROGRAMME IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
SSCE, /NECO 5 credits to include English Language,
Mathematics, Government plus: any other two (2) subjects at
not more than two(2) sittings.

B.Sc. EDUCATION SCIENCE PROGRAMME
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
Applicants must have relevant professional experience, plus
any ONE of the following three qualifications:
SSCE/WASC/General Certificate of Education (Ordinary level),
NECO or its equivalent with credits in five subjects including
English Language and Mathematics and at least two science
subjects; or
Teacher’s Grade II Certificate with at least-Merits in five subjects
including English Language, Mathematics and at least two
science subjects at the TCII/SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE (Ordinary
Level) or its equivalent;
Any other qualification that may be considered equivalent to (a)
and (b) above, by the University Senate.

QUALIFICATION FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR
TWO
The General Certificate of Education ‘O’ level or the West
African School Certificate, SSCE, NECO or its Equivalent with
credits in five subjects including English Language and
Mathematics of which at least two must have been passed at
the Advanced Level (in proposed subjects of study) provided
that no subject is counted at both levels;
National Certificate in Education (NCE) obtained from the former
College of Education, University of Lagos, in the Science
subjects to be offered, or from any College of Education
recognized by the Senate of the University of Lagos.

Applicant goes to any of the designated banks – Ecobank,
Access, Wema, UBA, Zenith or First Bank and pays the
application fee of N17,500 (Seventeen thousand, five hundred
Naira) only; broken down as follows:- N15,000 application fee;
N2,500 e-processing fee. Candidate will be given a receipt
which contains a CON – Confirmation Order Number.
Applicant is given online access to the Application Form
at www.dli.unilag.edu.ng and fills in all necessary information,
submits and prints a copy. (Applicant is also given the
opportunity to save Application Form and later complete the
Form in case certain information are not readily available).

GENERAL INFORMATION

– Applicants for Distance Learning Institute programme shall
not be less than 21 years of age by 31st December, 2017.
– Offer of admission to programme listed above are subject to
