Elizade University Gets NUC Full Accreditation to Run Engineering Programmes

Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo has been given full accreditation in all its Engineering programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The accredited programmes are Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

This is in addition to the full accreditation already given to programmes in the Faculties of Basic and Applied Sciences, Social and Management Sciences and Humanities by the Commission. The Law programme of the University has also received the approval of the Commission and that of the Council of Legal Education (CLE).

With the latest accreditation, all the programmes that were due for accreditation have received full accreditation.

Elizade University is one of the few universities in Nigeria to get full accreditation for all its due programmes at the first asking.

It would be recalled that the Engineering
programmes in the University have earlier been given full accreditation by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) have also given full accreditation to the Accounting programme of the University with 11 exemptions.

Efforts are on top gear to invite other professional bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Chartered Institute of Personal Management (CIPM) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), among others, for the professional accreditation of programmes in the Management Sciences.

Speaking on the development, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Theophilus Fadayomi said he was not surprised to receive the news of the full accreditation of all the programmes in the University. He affirmed that the University could not have scored less, given the enormous teaching facilities provided by the University and the carefully selected faculty members.

The Don revealed that one of the priorities of the University is to comply with the regulatory policies of the various educational regulatory bodies in the country.

He congratulated the students and their parents on the feat, promising that the University would not rest on its oasis.

Prof. Fadayomi enjoined the students to study very hard to be able to graduate in flying colours.

He also admonished prospective students and their parents to be part of the liberating education that the University offers.
