Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna) was established on February 1, 1983.

The University is a for-profit public higher education institution located in the city of Minna, Niger State.

The University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, and associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.

Federal University of Technology, Minna also provides several services to students including housing, sport facilities, library, online courses, and distance learning opportunities.

The University has established a linkage program with the University of Namibia and the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. The University has also signed a memorandum of understanding with The German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the National Poverty Eradication Program (NAPEP), Nigeria. It is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Association of African Universities.

International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment at FUTMinna.

The University has been accredited by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.
