UNIPORT Important Notice to Students on 2017/2018 Matriculation Ceremony

This is to inform the public especially, the newly admitted students of the University of Port-harcourt (UNIPORT) that the Matriculation Ceremony for 2017/2018 First Year Students has been scheduled to take place as specified below:

DATE: Thursday, 29th March, 2018

TIME: 9.00A.M

VENUE: Convocation Arena, University park

There will be an academic procession by
Members of senate. All Matriculants are to be seated at 8.30a.m and are expected to be very orderly.

Photograph taking inside the Arena will not be allowed.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL
MATRICULATING STUDENTS

You are required:

i.to print out the copy of the
Matriculation Pledge online, which you will sign after taking the Oath at the Convocation Arena and return same to the College Secretary/ Faculty Officer after the Ceremony.

Full-Time Students

ii. proceed to your Colleg/Faculty/School
with the receipt of payment of school
charges to collect the academic outfit from your (From Monday, 26th March, 2018) College Secetary/Faculty Officer.

Please note that a refund of #1,000.00 (One Thousand Naira) shall be made to you at the College/Faculty/ School Finance Office, on return of the outfit in good condition. Note also that no monies shall be paid at the college/Faculty/School for any other service or document.

iii. return the academic gown after the
Matriculation Ceremony and complete the necessary Forms for the refund of the sum of #1,000.00(One Thousand naira). This should be done not later than Friday, 6th April, 2018.

the collection and return of academic outfit.

UNIPORT Physical Clearance And Registration Procedure For Newly Admitted Students 2017/2018

The authorities of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) have released the guidelines for physical clearance and registration of fresh students for the 2017/2018 academic session.

Physical clearance and registration of Fresh Students in the Admissions Office and respective College/Faculty Offices will take place from Monday, 19th to Wednesday, 28th March, 2018.

UNIPORT REGISTRATION & CLEARANCE PROCEDURE.

Candidates who had accepted the offer of admission and paid School Charges are to follow the Procedure below:

(1) proceed to the Admissions Office with the original and photocopies of their credentials, for physical clearance.

(2) proceed to their respective College/Faculty offices with evidence of physical clearance from the Admissions Office, the original and photocopies of their credentials for physical clearance, registration and submission of File.

Please NOTE: Medical Examination and registration at the University Health Centre (O.B. Lulu-Briggs) will hold at a later date. The Date and procedure for this will be communicated in due course.

UNIPORT 2017/2018 Matriculation Ceremony Schedule

This is to inform all who gained admission into the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) that the management has set a new date for the 2017/2018 academic session matriculation ceremony.

The Matriculation Ceremony for the 2017/2018 session will hold on Thursday, 29th March, 2018 at 9.00 a.m. in Convocation Arena.

Collection of Academic Gown for the Matriculation Ceremony will commence on Monday, 26th March, 2018 in the College/Faculty Offices.

UNIPORT 2017/2018 PG. Cert in Nuclear Security Science Admission Form Out

Applications are invited from interested and
suitably qualified candidates for admission
into the Postgraduate Certificate Programme
in Nuclear Security Science (NSS) of the
Centre for Nuclear Energy Studies (CNES),
University of Port Harcourt for
the 2017/2018 academic session.

OBJECTIVE
The Programme is aimed at imparting in the
students, internationally recommended
foundation level theoretical and practical
knowledge of nuclear security science.

This will in turn help stimulate student’s ability
to deal with current and future nuclear
security challenges in Nigeria and the sub-
region. The Programme leads to the award of
Postgraduate Certificate in Nuclear Security
Science.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s
degree with minimum of Third Class Honours
(or HND Equivalent) in Engineering, Sciences
or Medical Sciences from a recognized
University (or Polytechnic). Candidates with
significant working experience in a related
field may be considered for admission.
Qualified foreign students are eligible for
admission. The course would be offered in
English Language.
Intending candidates are also advised to
undertake free pre-admission online
modules of the Texas A&M University
(TAMU) in: (i). Basic nuclear and atomic
physics, (ii). Nuclear fuel cycle and (iii).
Basic radiation detection. These modules are
accessible through the link: nsspi.tamu.edu/nssep/courses/. A good
score in each of the modules will be an
added advantage .

DURATION OF PROGRAMME AND SCHEDULE
The Programme is modular and shall last for
16 weeks. It comprises 10 taught courses,
industrial visits and an individual Term
Paper. Each course shall be for a duration of
40 hours of lectures and 3 hours of
examination. The Programme is scheduled to
start on July 7, 2018.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Studies, University Park, University of Port
Harcourt, on presentation of evidence of
payment of a non-refundable fee
of N15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand naira only)

passport-sized photographs of the applicant
and the original copy of Receipt of Payment
